At the Money (ATM)

General Options, Glossary

An option is considered at the money (ATM) when the strike price is equal to or very close to the current market price of the underlying asset (stock). ATM options have no intrinsic value, but they still carry extrinsic value based on implied volatility and time until expiration. These options are commonly used in trading strategies that capitalize on price movement or volatility shifts.
