26% of workers plan to quit their job in the next 12 months

Per PwC

The latest Global Workeforce Hopes and Fears Survey by PwC tries to understand how the workforce is doing and trends in their plans moving forward. It was found that 26% of them wanted to quit their jobs in the coming 12 months.

This was reportedly a significant increase from 2022, when the number of workers that wanted to quit in the next 12 months sat at just 19%. Within the report, it was noted that per the World Economic Forum, employers estimate that in the next five years, 44% of workers' skills would be disrupted.

It was also noted that those saying they want to change jobs were less likely to describe their work as "fulfilling" or a place where "they can be themselves." Over a fifth of workers described the past 12 months of their work as "unmanageable."

In October 2022, it was reported that remote job offerings in the US fell from 20% to just 14% from Feb to Sept. During that time, it was reported that listings attracted an extra 2% of applicants, bringing the total to 52%.

In Feb, it was reported that the number of software engineering and data science job listings fell 24% and 27% from a year before amid layoffs.
