A recent study that surveyed 500 creators, analyzing thousands of posts, found that Instagram reels were the most profitable way for them to make money. It was found that for businesses with a follower count of over 750,000, influencers could earn $7,030 per post.
Later, a social-media-management platform released a report which showed how much influencers could earn from Instagram Reels. Monique Thomas, the editorial-content-marketing manager of Late, gave a statement to Insider regarding the difference between TikTok and Instagram.
Thomas: "TikTok is really good for the initial stage of growing your platform and getting a lot of eyes on your content... When you want to monetize, you might start thinking about Instagram."
The survey was conducted on December 2022 and included an analysis of 31,000 social posts stretching 500 creators globally. The study found that the majority of respondents were female, and overall, 74% of the participants were part-time creators.
Instagram also had the highest monetization for creators compared to other platforms. 84.2% of participants said they were paid for Instagram posts, 63.8% said they were paid for Instagram reels, and only 27.4% said they were paid for a TikTok post.
In March, it was also reported that the average sponsorship rate for Instagram increased by around $1,500 from 2021 to 2022. However, in 2021, creators would get an average of $3,652 for sponsorship posts, but in 2022, they were able to earn $5,077.
Instagram sponsorship prices increased by 39% from 2021 to 2022.
In February, it was noted that Meta was testing out paid verification for Instagram and Facebook. The paid verifications would cost $11.99 monthly on the web and $14.99 monthly on mobile.
This comes as Twitter was pushing its paid subscriptions, where users can charge for subscribers to have access to exclusive content. During that time, Zuckerberg said the new feature would increase "authenticity" and "security."
