Apple is planning a big 2027 with foldable all-screen iPhones, smart glasses, camera equipped wearables, table-top robots

In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared fresh details about what he expects will be a major Apple product rollout in 2027. Among the most striking revelations: Apple is reportedly developing a “mostly glass, curved iPhone” with no visible display cutouts—just in time for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary.

This new insight builds on a report from The Information last weekend, which claimed that at least one iPhone model in 2027 will feature an under-display front camera, paving the way for a true edge-to-edge screen. Meanwhile, a previous report from The Elec noted that Apple is collaborating with display manufacturers to eliminate bezels entirely—but without using wraparound screens like those seen in phones from Samsung or Vivo.

What stands out in Gurman’s report is the mention of a “mostly glass, curved” design. That description raises questions, since current iPhones, such as the iPhone 15 Pro, already rely heavily on glass—aside from the titanium frame and the camera ring. Gurman’s comment may be pointing toward a more futuristic design, possibly inspired by earlier Apple patents, including a 2019 filing that describes a device fully encased in glass that wraps continuously around the body.

In addition to the redesigned iPhone, Gurman paints a picture of a banner year for Apple in 2027. He reiterates past claims that the company aims to launch its first foldable iPhone that year. Apple is also said to be preparing smart glasses, including versions with and without augmented reality capabilities, to compete with products like Meta’s Ray-Bans. Rumors of AirPods and Apple Watches with built-in cameras are also expected to materialize around the same time.

One of the more surprising tidbits is Apple’s reported work on a home robot—described as a tabletop assistant with built-in AI and a distinct personality. That concept brings to mind Apple’s experimental robotic lamp, which has been seen in internal research.

Finally, Gurman notes that Apple may finally debut a version of Siri powered by a large language model (LLM) by 2027. Supporting that effort would be custom chips designed for server-side AI processing. A December report from The Information indicated that Apple’s AI chip development is being led by the same Israel-based team that played a key role in building the Apple Silicon processors that replaced Intel chips in Macs starting in 2020.
