Apple's, $AAPL, new interface design is "Liquid Glass"

Apple is introducing a new app that brings together gaming experiences across its ecosystem. The Apple Games app will serve as a central hub, combining Apple Arcade, personalized App Store game recommendations, users’ game libraries, and their friends lists. Described as an “all-in-one destination for games and playing with friends,” the app is designed to streamline how users engage with games on Apple devices.

Launching this fall for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the app will also include features like global leaderboards for select titles and developer-created challenges. By incorporating social and competitive elements, the app aims to enhance solo gameplay with multiplayer-style interactions.

In addition to gaming, Apple is expanding its suite of AI-powered features through deeper integration with ChatGPT. New capabilities allow users to gain more context around images and take actions based on what they see across apps. Whether it’s identifying a product, creating a calendar event from a visual cue, or finding similar items across platforms like Google or Etsy, the experience is designed to be seamless and intuitive. A simple screenshot-like gesture will prompt users to either save the image or use Apple Intelligence to search and act.

This fall also marks the release of iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe 26. A standout update in both operating systems is the introduction of the “Liquid Glass” design—a visually rich, translucent interface applied across apps and UI elements. The look draws inspiration from Apple’s visionOS and aims to modernize the user experience.

Additionally, Apple is enhancing its Image Playground and Genmoji features with new styles powered by ChatGPT. Users can now transform photos with creative filters, such as converting an image into an oil painting. Descriptions or images are sent to ChatGPT to generate the results, but Apple emphasizes that nothing is shared without user consent.
