Biden Welcomes Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky | Kremlin Says US is 'Fighting an Indirect War with Russia'

Per France 24

US President Biden recently welcomed Volodomyr Zeleensky, the President of Ukraine, in a surprise one-day visit to the US and announced a $1.85 billion package, including equipment and ammunition contracts along with "a Patriot missile battery." The Kremlin said that the moves of the President of the United States are "fighting an indirect war with Russia."

Biden: "A $1.85 billion package that includes equipment and ammunition contracts. And a Patriot missile battery that we will train forces to operate as part of our efforts to strengthen Ukrainian air defense."

Currency Wars author Jim Rickards shared Biden's announcement noting that experts are saying not to escalate, which he says the US president is doing. The author said that he has has spent 53 years studying nuclear war fighting.

Rickards: "Every expert from Herman Kahn to Albert Wohlstetter says 'don't escalate.' Biden is escalating without limit. So, it's not complicated. Get ready for a nuclear war."

Journalist Glenn Greenwald said that the US is spending a total of $100 billion on Ukraine in the span of 10 months, while Russia's military budget for the whole year is just $65 billion.

A spokesman for the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, gave a statement regarding the situation, saying that they have received no word from the President of the US nor the President of Ukraine regarding their concerns.

Peskov: "This suggests that the United States is continuing its line of de facto fighting an indirect war with Russia to the last Ukrainian,"

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repetitively warned the United States from getting involved in the war in Ukraine. The warning, released in July, stated that Russia would strike new targets should the West continue to supply Ukraine with longer-range missiles, per Reuters.

While no NATO forces have been sent to Ukraine, the US and European allies have supplied Kyiv with weapons, drones, heavy artillery, and anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles.

The trip of President Zelensky to the US marked his first international trip ever since the war started on Feb 24, where he would speak at a joint meeting for Congress, per WION.
