Billionaire Bill Ackman is now being more vocal about who he wants to run for US president. Specifically, he wants JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon to run, saying it would be a "huge loss" if he didn't.
Ackman: "It is a huge loss for us all if Jamie won't run,"
In a separate statement to David Rubenstein, Carlyle co-founder, Dimon commented on his confidence regarding the US President.
Dimon: "America has the best hand ever dealt of any country on this planet today, ever... (and the US having the) widest, deepest financial markets the world has ever seen".
Dimon also mentioned other things he liked about the US, saying the US has the best military, work ethic, economy, universities, and innovation. He also commented on its financial markets compared to the rest of the world.
In May, the JPMorgan CEO expressed how he wanted regulators to look at a short-selling ban on banks. This was during a discussion on Bloomberg Radio, where he said the SEC had the enforcement abilities to look into what people were doing in different trading methods highlighting how if someone went short, then tweeted out about the bank.
In April, Jamie Dimon was questioned under oath for up to seven hours over two days regarding lawsuits regarding the complicity of his bank in Jeffrey Epstein's activities.
