CVS Health has removed photos of its executives from its website amid the ongoing manhunt for the person who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
A CVS spokesperson confirmed to FOX Business on Friday that all executive leadership photos have been taken down but declined to provide further comment.
Similarly, UnitedHealthcare’s leadership page has been removed, with its URL now redirecting visitors to the company’s homepage.
These actions follow heightened concerns across the healthcare industry after Thompson was fatally shot outside a midtown Manhattan hotel on Wednesday. Police have described the incident as a “premeditated, targeted attack.”
The Hilton hotel, where the shooting occurred, was hosting UnitedHealthcare's annual investors conference. Authorities reported that Thompson had been in New York since Monday and was staying at a location across the street.
The NYPD continues to investigate the case and is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
While no motive has been disclosed, UnitedHealthcare, the country’s largest health insurer, has faced criticism in recent months, particularly over allegations of improperly denying claims.
