Disney average wait time drops to 27 minutes from 47 minutes pre-pandemic

Per CBS News

Disney is seeing faster average wait times, meaning that lesser people are lining up to see their flagship Magic Kingdom park. On July 4, it was reported that people only had to wait an average of 27 minutes from the initial 47 minutes in 2019.

In 2019, before the pandemic, people at Disney had to wait for 47 minutes but now, the numbers saw a 43% decrease. In 2022, the wait times are at an average of just 31 minutes.

This was according to Jacob Passy, a Wall Street Journal reported, who gave a statement to CBS News regarding the situation. Passy said he got the data from the Touring Plans company.

Passy: "We specifically looked at July 4, which over history has always been a fairly peak day for the parks... The wait times were significantly lower this year than in previous years."

In May, it was reported that Disney closed its Star Wars-themed hotel. The Galactic Starcruiser hotel was closed down just 15 months after its initial grand opening.

In February, it was reported that Walt Disney was to restructure into 3 divisions, looking for $5.5 billion in cost cuts while deciding to reduce workforce by about 7,000 jobs. Of those fired, the number is about 3% of the roughly 220,000 people that it employed as of October 1.
