Since Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, the number of workers has dropped from 7,500 to 2,700 people.
The new Twitter CEO held an all-hands meeting with employees, saying the company is done with layoffs and is recruiting for roles in engineering and sales. Employees were encouraged to make referrals.
Musk specified that the highest priority was "people who are great at writing software." Twitter recruited were already reaching out to engineers inviting them to join "Twitter 2.0 — an Elon company.”
The CEO said that stock options will still be given to employees, and they are free to cash them out regularly, like with SpaceX.
