Musk Claims Social Security Database Lists Millions as Centenarians
Elon Musk took to X on Monday, suggesting that millions of individuals in the Social Security database are recorded as being over 100 years old—with their “death field” still set to FALSE!
"According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real, and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security," Musk joked, adding two rolling on the floor laughing emojis.
His post included a chart indicating:
- More than 20 million individuals listed as 100 or older
- Over 3.9 million recorded in the 130-139 age range
- More than 3.5 million listed as being 140-149 years old
- Over 1.3 million recorded between 150-159 years old
SSA Under Scrutiny
Fox News Digital reached out to the Social Security Administration (SSA) for comment.
For reference, the 2020 U.S. Census reported a population of 331 million, with just over 80,000 individuals aged 100 or older—a stark contrast to the millions Musk claims are listed as centenarians in the SSA system.
"The System Is INSANE"
Musk didn’t stop there.
He called out the complexity of the Social Security system, writing:
"The logic flow diagram for the Social Security system looks INSANE. No one person actually knows how it works. The payment files that move between Social Security and Treasury have significant inconsistencies that are not reconciled. It’s wild."
In another post, he escalated his concerns, claiming:
"There are FAR more ‘eligible’ Social Security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history."
