Jeffrey Epstein moved $270,000 for Noam Chomsky, after Chomsky met multiple times with Epstein

Original reporting done by WSJ

Noam Chomsky, a well-known political activist and professor, has acknowledged his involvement in financial transactions related to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier. Chomsky has confirmed that he received a transfer of approximately $270,000 in March 2018 from an account linked to Epstein. He explained that this amount was solely for the purpose of rearranging his own funds and did not include any contribution from Epstein.

Chomsky clarified that he sought Epstein's assistance regarding a "technical matter" involving the disbursement of joint funds from his previous marriage. He stated that he and his late wife had not given much attention to financial issues, and they approached Epstein for advice. To facilitate the process, they decided to transfer funds from one account in Chomsky's name to another through Epstein's office.

Chomsky emphasized that he did not hire Epstein and that the fund transfer was a simple and expedient transaction. In an initial response to inquiries about his relationship with Epstein, Chomsky had stated, "First response is that it is none of your business. Or anyone's. Second is that I knew him and we met occasionally."
