OpenAI's Sam Altman talks about how the whole world wants AI

Per CNBC

OpenAI's Sam Altman reportedly talked about how the whole world wanted AI and how the market would deliver. This came during the CEO's speech in Singapore, where he talked to business founders, tech executives, and people at the Singapore Management University.

Altman: “We’ve got sophisticated enough languages and also powerful enough computers that we could make AI bigger and bigger and bigger... We’re going to make models more efficient. We’re going to make way more chips. I think this is clearly what the world wants and the market will deliver.”

This comes as OpenAI's ChatGPT had hit 100 million users in just two months since its launch. This feat gained the company massive attention not just in the tech space but in the business space as well.

Now, Sam Altman reportedly talks about the future of OpenAI and what they plan to do with the company in the future.

Altman: “We want to drive the cost of intelligence down and down and down. We want to make this stuff so cheap you don’t have to think about [it]... We plan to continue to have big cuts in the future. We have to keep making research breakthroughs to be able to do that,”

Recently, Sam Altman reportedly said that he didn't want the company to go public since he wanted to retain full control. He also revealed how he didn't own any equity in the company and how certain decisions made by the company might not sit well with public market investors.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink reportedly said he thinks that AI will boost productivity by 30%. This comes as the company has a team called AI Labs which reportedly focused on learning more about the technology, specifically machine learning and natural language processing.

Fink revealed that the company was already spending a lot of time learning more about the technology.
