Community Page Overview

About Unusual Whales

The Unusual Whales Community Page is a recently added feature that helps leverage the community towards achieving the collective goal of following the sharpest options flow.

The page currently consists of 3 modules: a Filter Showcase, Chatroom, and Shared Chains feed. Additional modules will be added as the page's development continues.

Filter Showcase

The Filter Showcase allows subscribers to upload and discuss different settings that they use on the platform. View a shared filter by selecting the filter name in the feed. Add your own filter to the showcase by using the ‘Add Filter’ button on the top right of the module.

A brief description generated by the author of the filter can be seen by clicking the ‘description’ portion of the feed. You can leave comments if you want to add something, or if you have a question for the author.

Chatroom

The Chatroom (coming to the mobile app soon!) offers several different chat channels. #general chat is available without a subscription. All other channels require an options flow subscription to access.

The chatroom is available as a module on the Market Overview (toggleable using the ‘Widgets’ function on the top of the page), as well as the Super Flow multi-view feature.

Typing a contract out as seen in the screenshot ('SPY 600c 2/14') will produce a link that when selected will open the ‘flow popup’, including the contract chart.

You can opt to receive push notifications for chat room activity using the custom alerts (Macro & Other section).

Shared Chains Feed

The Shared Chains Feed pulls data from the subscriber only #flow-discussions channel, located in the Unusual Whales Discord server.  Options chains and their accompanying message that are written out in such a manner to be picked up by our bot will be relayed to the feed. Again, useful for those who don't use Discord and for those who want to be exposed to different types of options flow that they may not have seen on their own.

The Shared Chains Feed is available as a module on the Super Flow multi-view feature.

Options chains referenced in this feed may not necessarily be new or even recent transactions so please do your own due diligence. In some instances some of the shared chains will merely be an update from prior activity. The stated return uses the entry price at the time the contract is shared and assumes that all options are long. Therefore a short put which has collected max gain would read as -100%.
