Originally the Verge broke the story, but Microsoft employees were told they were getting unlimited time off.
Kathleen Hogan, Microsoft's chief people officer, said: “How, when, and where we do our jobs has dramatically changed,” explains Hogan in the internal memo. “And as we’ve transformed, modernizing our vacation policy to a more flexible model was a natural next step.”
Interestingly, new Microsoft employees don't need to wait to accrue vacation time. Microsoft will offer 10 corporate holidays, leaves of absence, sick and mental heath time off, per the Verge.
