Tom Brady recently announced his retirement from the NFL, and now, he will start his broadcasting career in 2024 with FOX Sports. The Super Bowl champion entered a $375-million 10-year contract to become a broadcaster.
Brady: "It's going to be a great opportunity for me to really take some time, and catching up on other parts of my life that need some time and energy,"
The seven-time Super Bowl champion's retirement from the NFL is reportedly final after he gave an official farewell message, per NPR. Brady thanked his fans for the support.
Brady won 7 Super Bowls over his 23-year career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, scoring 649 touchdowns and 89,214 passing yards.
Previously, Brady announced his retirement but then un-retired himself after 40 days. Although he retired, the report says that he could still theoretically return to the sport, and although he retired, when asked by Colin Cowherd in "The Herd" interview, he shared his feelings towards the sport.
Brady: "I put it out on the field for 23 years and I'm super proud of what's been accomplished. I feel like I've given a lot, gained a lot, learned a lot. Life is about exciting things ahead, too. I look forward to what's ahead."
Despite being celebrated as a Super Bowl champion, Brady encountered some obstacles near the end of 2022 after he and others were sued for promoting FTX. The champion, along with his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen and others, was the subject of a class-action lawsuit regarding their involvement with FTX.
Tom Brady reportedly owns 1.1 million common shares of FTX, which was once worth $45 million in November. Aside from the Super Bowl champion, other high-profile individuals like Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, and Alibaba co-founder Joe Tsai were among the investors.
