CNN said it was highly unlikely to cover verification costs for all employees. As per Zippa's estimate, the media company has 5,392 employees.

Since Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, one of his newest moves was to charge an $8 monthly fee to verified members. As of 2021, there were 400,000 verified users on the platform.

Wedbush's forecast estimates a $5.8 billion 2022 revenue—equivalent to 2.4-3 million users paying the $8 monthly fee. Musk expected that service and another unknown addition called "X" to generate $10 billion in subscription revenue by 2028.
