Nvidia, NVDA, says it will manufacture American-made AI supercomputers in US for first time now

NVIDIA is collaborating with its manufacturing partners to design and construct factories that will, for the first time, produce NVIDIA AI supercomputers entirely within the United States.

In partnership with leading manufacturers, the company has commissioned over one million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test its Blackwell AI chips in Arizona and AI supercomputers in Texas.

Production of NVIDIA Blackwell chips has already begun at TSMC’s semiconductor facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. Meanwhile, supercomputer manufacturing plants are being developed in Texas, with Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas. Full-scale production at these sites is expected to ramp up within 12 to 15 months.

The AI chip and supercomputer supply chain is highly complex, requiring advanced capabilities in manufacturing, packaging, assembly, and testing. To support these efforts, NVIDIA is partnering with Amkor and SPIL for packaging and testing operations in Arizona.

Over the next four years, NVIDIA plans to produce up to $500 billion worth of AI infrastructure in the U.S. through strategic partnerships with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL. These industry leaders are deepening their collaborations with NVIDIA, expanding their global operations while enhancing supply chain resilience.

NVIDIA AI supercomputers are the core of a new class of data centers — AI factories — built specifically to power artificial intelligence. In the coming years, tens of gigawatt-scale AI factories are expected to be constructed. Manufacturing NVIDIA AI chips and supercomputers for U.S.-based AI factories is projected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and generate trillions of dollars in economic value over the next several decades.
