The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection proposed via public notice that app-based food delivery workers should be paid at least $23.82/hour plus tips by 2025.

A 2021 local law mandates the highly anticipated pay scale. The law requires a minimum wage for workers on apps like DoorDash and Uber Eats. As per the proposal, the pay minimum would start at $17.87 on Jan 1, 2023, and transition to $23.82 by April 1, 2025.

Once the $23.82 hourly rate is in effect, a $19.86 base rate will be implemented. An additional $2.26 for expenses and $1.70 to reflect compensation insurance should be included.
