Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan invested $75 million in FTX International and FTX US in October 2021. They added $20 million to FTX US in January 2022.
They said the investment was less than 0.05% of their net total assets. Their invested amounts gave them ownership of 0.4% in FTX International and 0.5% in FTX US.
"We will be writing down our investment in FTX to zero at our year end"
The Ontario Teachers' say the financial loss of the investment will have a "limited impact" on their Pension Plan.
"We are disappointed with the outcome of this investment"
