Senate Republicans are asking for an explanation from the SEC as to why their staff are leaving at the highest rate in 10 years. The high departure rate comes amid numerous proposed rules

Gary Gensler, the chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, adds that they lack the internal firepower to accomplish its plans. The SEC has 26 new proposals in 2022, double its 2021 proposals and the highest seen in five years.

The SEC is losing senior officer positions at a 20.8% rate and attorney positions at an 8.4% rate this fiscal year.
