The White House Says OPEC+ is Aligning With Russia After Group Agreed on Deep Oil Production Cuts

Per FT

After the OPEC+ group said they would reduce production targets to 2mn barrels a day (2% of global supply), the US White House accused them of aligning with Russia.

The decision to cut production targets was made after an in-person meeting, the first in two years, held in Vienna. US administration called the move a "shortsighted decision" during a time when maintaining a global supply of energy is extremely important.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the energy minister of Saudi Arabia, said that the decisions were made to promote long-term oil production investment.
