Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said that he recommends most people get off Facebook

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has expressed his belief that most people should consider removing themselves from the social media giant, Facebook. He offered advice to the rival company, suggesting that while some may find the benefits of Facebook worth the trade-off in privacy, many others, including himself, should find a way to disengage from the platform.

Wozniak argued that companies like Facebook should provide a higher level of privacy to users, stating that people often believe they have more privacy than they actually do. He questioned why these platforms don't offer users the choice to pay for a higher level of data security and privacy, separate from advertisers' access.

Facebook, being one of the world's most valuable companies, had over 2.3 billion monthly active users as of December 2018. However, it has faced controversies regarding privacy and security, with incidents like the livestreaming of the Christchurch mosque shootings.

In April of the previous year, Wozniak decided to shut down his own Facebook account, stating that the platform brought him more negatives than positives. He prefers more secure methods like Apple's for sharing personal information and communication, such as old-school email and text messages.
