Google, $GOOGL, has reportedly ‘interfered’ with elections 41 times over the last 16 years, Media Research Center has said

According to a report from a media watchdog with right-leaning views, Google has allegedly been biased towards Democratic candidates in the past four presidential election cycles, censoring Republicans in the process.

The Media Research Center (MRC) released a report documenting 41 instances of what they call "election interference" by Google since 2008.

The MRC report accuses Google of using its influence to help elect the most liberal candidates while censoring their opponents.

Google has denied these allegations made by the MRC.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of X, joined the conversation with a post on his social media platform.

Musk stated that Google "interferes to help Democrats thousands of times every election season," attributing this behavior to the left-leaning political views of Google's censorship teams.

Musk's comments were in response to a post containing a screenshot of an article from The Post discussing the MRC report.

In 2008, MRC claimed that Google supported then-Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) over Hillary Clinton in the Democratic nomination race.

According to the MRC report, Google censored support for Clinton by suspending accounts of bloggers critical of Obama during their primary contest.

In the following election cycle, Google reportedly favored Obama over Mitt Romney and refused to address a "Google bomb" that targeted GOP candidate Rick Santorum with a smear campaign.

The MRC report also referenced Dr. Robert Epstein's testimony to Congress, where he claimed that Google's search algorithm shifted at least 2.5 million votes towards Clinton in her unsuccessful bid against Donald Trump.
