Half of Americans — including 42% of Democrats — say they'd support mass deportations of undocumented immigrants, according to a new Axios Vibes survey by The Harris Poll.

A recent poll reveals that over half of Americans, including a significant 42% of Democrats, support mass deportations of illegal immigrants amid President Biden's ongoing border challenges.

According to the Axios Vibes survey conducted by the Harris Poll and released on Thursday, 51% of respondents expressed their backing for removing undocumented immigrants.

Moreover, a substantial portion, comprising 30% of Democrats and 46% of Republicans, indicated their favor for ending birthright citizenship, which is protected under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.

When asked about their primary concern regarding illegal immigrants, 21% of those surveyed highlighted escalating crime rates, drug-related issues, and violence.

Additionally, 32% of respondents attributed the current border crisis to the Biden administration, deeming it "most responsible."

Mark Penn, chairman of the Harris Poll, expressed surprise at the public's support for large-scale deportations, suggesting that it serves as a message to politicians to address the issue effectively. He emphasized that this sentiment is a warning to Biden, indicating that efforts to shift responsibility for the problem to former President Donald Trump are ineffective.

Since Biden assumed office in 2021, US Customs and Border Protection agents have encountered over 7 million migrants along the southern border, including 961,537 in the current fiscal year, according to the latest CBP data.

Biden has consistently attempted to blame former President Trump for exacerbating the crisis by obstructing the Senate's bipartisan border security bill earlier this year.
