US President Joe Biden was asked whether Elon Musk was a threat to national security.
The President responded: "I think that Elon Musk's cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at."
The President clarified that he did not suggest that Musk was doing anything inappropriate but said it was worth being looked at.
China is Tesla's second-largest market with half of the company's cars being produced in China-based factories.
Before Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Holding Co., the office of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, said they would assist Musk's purchase of Twitter by rolling over their $1.89 billion existing stake.
