Looking for work is a struggle and headhunters are making it even harder, per FORTUNE.

The report revealed that employers added 142,000 new jobs, below the expected 160,000, and the unemployment rate dropped from 4.3% to 4.2%. Additionally, July's job gains were revised down to 89,000, marking the lowest monthly increase since December 2020, when 243,000 jobs were cut.
Speaking at a Council on Foreign Relations event in New York, Williams suggested that the data could set the stage for the central bank to lower interest rates at its upcoming meeting. Williams, who has a permanent vote on the Fed’s monetary policy committee, is considered a key adviser to Fed Chair Jerome Powell.
