Most people who threatened to quit Twitter haven't actually left

Per New Scientist: New Scientist reports that most people who threatened to quit Twitter haven't actually left, with only 1.6% of 140,000 leaving.

This is true of big polticians as well, per NBC. AOC said, “There is a line where it becomes too toxic,” said Ocasio-Cortez. She’ll quit Twitter, she said, when it “becomes so difficult to use that I’m not able to use it as a form of effective communication.”

“What Elon Musk is doing is so egregiously destructive to a source of public knowledge and communication,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., who serves on two committees that oversee tech companies, “It’s just really nihilistic and I don’t know that I want to be a part of that kind of thing.”

Yet both are still tweeting, and using the platform. It is unclear how many have actually left. Elon Musk has reported that usage is at an all time high.
