Nvidia, NVDA, CEO Jensen Huang has said: US tightening of chip export control has significant impact on Nvidia's business…

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Thursday that China remains a very important market for the company, following the U.S. government's decision to ban sales of its H20 artificial intelligence chips to the country.

"We hope to continue our cooperation with China," Huang said during a meeting with Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.

Huang arrived in Beijing earlier in the day at the invitation of the trade council.

His visit comes amid tightened U.S. restrictions on Nvidia’s shipments of its H20 datacenter GPUs to China—the only AI chip the company was still legally permitted to sell in the country under existing export rules.

The new U.S. restrictions have added uncertainty for Chinese internet firms that had been expecting deliveries of the H20 chip later this year.

Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request from Reuters for comment on Huang's schedule while in China.
