The FBI seized Mayor Eric Adams’s phones amid an investigation of his 2021 campaign, per the Hill.
Earlier this week, the FBI seized electronic devices belonging to New York City Mayor Eric Adams as part of an investigation into potential illegal campaign donations from Turkish nationals.
Federal agents approached Adams near his SUV on Monday, taking two cell phones and an iPad under a court-authorized warrant.
The devices were returned within a few days. Adams, not currently accused of any wrongdoing, emphasized his expectation that his staff follows the law and cooperates with investigations.
Adams returned abruptly from Washington, D.C., last week, citing support for his staff and Brianna Suggs, his chief fund-raiser, whose home was raided by the FBI.
