US Coast Guard says they found 'presumed human remains' from Titan submersible

Per CNN

The US Coast Guard has given a recent update regarding findings around the Titan submersible, the famed submarine that took five people to their doom while trying to view the Titanic. As they sorted through debris and evidence, they said they found "presumed human remains."

The official US Coast Guard news release detailed how the remains were found "within the wreckage" of the site where the five people onboard were presumed dead. This was around the North Atlantic, where the Titanic-bound vessel imploded.

As of press time, US medical professionals are set to analyze the presumed remains, according to the military branch. The exploration of the wreckage was carried out by Pelagic Research, the company that owns the remotely operated vehicles that brought the remains to the surface.

Captain Jason Neubauer, the investigative board's head, commented on the situation, saying there was still more that needed to be understood.

Capt. Neubauer: “There is still a substantial amount of work to be done to understand the factors that led to the catastrophic loss of the Titan and help ensure a similar tragedy does not occur again,”

OceanGate, the company that owned the missing Titanic sub, said the crew had tragically perished. The company said they were grieving the loss of life.

The Titanic submarine ran out of oxygen early in the morning at 7:08 AM EST on June 22.
