Biden campaign published first post on Trump's Truth Social, DWAC.
Joe Biden’s prospective 2024 re-election campaign has joined Truth Social, a right-wing social media platform founded by the former Republican president Donald Trump.
Under the username @BidenHQ, the account identifies itself as a “project of Biden-Harris 2024” and features a banner proclaiming, “the malarkey ends here,” a nod to the president’s distinctive expression.
The campaign humorously announced its presence on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating that it joined Truth Social "mostly because we thought it would be very funny."
Selecting a profile image of Biden as "Dark Brandon," a meme portraying him with laser eyes, derived from the “Let’s Go Brandon” chant used in right-wing circles, serves as a playful element. This move is part of a series of jests and memes from the president’s digital team.
While the account is intended for humor, it’s evident that the Biden campaign aims to engage with conservative audiences. Initial posts shared conservatives both giving Biden credit and critiquing Trump.
In its debut post on the platform, Biden’s campaign expressed, “Well. Let’s see how this goes. Converts welcome!” The campaign informed Fox News Digital that using Truth Social would allow them to "meet voters where they are" while countering misinformation about Biden circulating on the platform.
