Nikki Haley quietly bought a $2.4M SC island home after leaving office and joining Boeing, $BA, board, per NYP.

In a subtle transaction, Nikki Haley, a current contender for the Republican presidential nomination, quietly invested $2.4 million in a waterfront estate on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, where she trails former President Donald Trump in recent primary polls.

The 51-year-old political figure, formerly the US ambassador to the United Nations, acquired the property in October 2019, shortly after leaving public office and five months after joining Boeing's board. The Washington Post has reached out to Haley's representatives for comment.

This expansive residence, jointly purchased with her husband, Michael Haley, is situated in the exclusive enclave of Kiawah Island. Originally listed at $3.3 million, Haley and her husband showcased their negotiation skills, securing a significant reduction in the property's price at the time.

Built in 2003, the Mediterranean-style mansion sprawls across half an acre, offering picturesque views of the Kiawah River adorned with century-old oaks and palm trees. Kiawah Island, located less than an hour's drive from Charleston, is renowned as an affluent yet low-key beach retreat with premier golf courses and the renowned Sanctuary resort.

Over the years, Kiawah has hosted numerous distinguished guests, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, and President Joe Biden.

The sophisticated architecture features tiered balconies, private terraces, a pool, and a poolside loggia with an outdoor kitchen. Internally, the residence spans over 5,700 square feet, housing four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, along with ample formal spaces.

Upon entering, a grand two-story foyer leads to a spacious great room featuring picture windows, lofty ceilings, a fireplace, and a bar area. Adjacent to a formal dining area, an informal dining space extends onto a terrace.

The state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen boasts top-tier appliances, dual granite-topped islands, and bar seating. Ascending to the second floor reveals a generously sized master suite with a private terrace, a cozy sitting area with a breakfast bar, a lavishly equipped bath with dual vanities, and twin walk-in closets.

Additional amenities include an office, a third-floor guest suite, and a bonus room convertible into a media enclave. The residence also offers a four-stop elevator and a cutting-edge smart home security system.
