Fox News Tonight loses over 700,000 viewers after Tucker Carlson’s exit, per the Washington Times.

Fox News Channel has experienced a significant decline in viewership for its 8 p.m. Eastern time slot following the departure of Tucker Carlson. TVNewser data reveals that the replacement program "Fox News Tonight," hosted by Brian Kilmeade as the first in a series of rotating hosts, drew an estimated 2,597,000 viewers on Monday. While this number surpassed competing shows on CNN and MSNBC during the same time slot, it represents a more than 20% drop in ratings compared to "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

In the eight weeks leading up to Monday, Carlson's program had averaged 3.3 million viewers, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The loss of 700,000 viewers for the Monday show equates to a 21.3% decrease in audience size. Despite this decline, Fox News Channel's "The Five" talk show achieved the highest ratings of any cable news program on Monday, attracting approximately 3,220,000 viewers in the 5 p.m. EDT slot.
